Thanks to the Mohican Tribe for Organizing the Campout!

This year we're going to try a beach camp for Summer Camp.   We have reserved the Ventura River group campsites at Emma Wood Beach, in Ventura.  It's just a short drive away, so less time driving and more time for fun!   Start recruiting!   Bring your neighbors and friends (but carpool).

There's a river to go explore, direct access to the beach, miles of bike paths, bike rentals, a convenience store, and of course, downtown Ventura (even the harbor is a quick drive away).  It will be a laid back campout without much structure other than the Saturday campfire, so plan your tribe outings for Saturday.

We will have a campfire on Saturday night

  • We'll provide Ice cream sandwiches.

  • We'll have the usual tribal cheers, skits and songs.

  • We'll also announce the tribe of the year.

  • We'll also announce the tribe of the year.

  • We'll thank last year's council

  • We'll  welcome in next year's council.

Directions:

101 North to Ventura.
Exit California St., and Make a Right.
Left onto main St.

Take main street down to it's end, past the private campground.  The entrance to the group campsite is on your left, just before the entrance to 101N.

The campground is a massive field with a sea of tables and campfire rings (not the driveway pull ins that you may be used to).  There are chemical toilets and water.   Parking is limited, so try to carpool as much as possible.   We did not reserve the RV area (was already taken), so tents are recommended.   There's room for 20 RVs, and the folks who reserved it may not have that many...  But bring them your own risk.

  • Family Event - Bring moms and siblings

  • It's close.  Even non-campers can come up for the day or evening.

  • Remember to practice your tribal yells for Saturday campfire!

  • Miles of bike trails, Hiking, Direct Access to the Beach.

  • City of Ventura, Harbor a short drive away!
